 BLIND MAN LUCK

On a street corner
A blind man
Was making music
With his old violin
Earning a few dollars
To fulfill his hunger and thirst.

Like any blind man,
He has one ambition
Which is to have a pair of eyes
To see the world around him.

Here I am,
Looking at him,
Listening to his music,
Wishing to be like him…
Too blind to see the dirty games
People play in order to gain
Fame and fortune.

Doesn’t the blind man
Know how lucky he is?
To be unable to see
Such a horrid sight,
Such violent scenery?

Whereas I have to suffer
The rest of my life
In seeing, in living
Such an ugly sight and scenery,
And being powerless to do anything
To change it.
