His Looks

The way he looks,
The way he stares,
Stare through me.
He hurts me so.
The anger, the pain,
The tears, the cries,
From inside

Why does he hurt me so?
He tells me
It's all my fault.
I cause my pain,
He raised his hand
To hit me so.

I lay and cry,
I hear him coming,
I hope not for more.
He looks at me.
In my eyes
Whispers, he is sorry,
But I made him angry,
I made him do it.

We are happy,
So I forgive him.
As it was all my fault,
We will not talk about it -
Until the next time

I lay in hospital
Wondering why I stayed,
Stayed for more.
But never more will I stay!
