A Song Of Weeping

What do these tears matter
When my soul they leave uncleansed?
What do they matter
When I cannot say with the Heavens,
Heaven weeps?
But lustrous green life blossoms
Under her shower of tears.
Life abounds, life lives!

These tears mock my dreams,
They crush my hope,
They laugh at my joy,
They shatter my faith,
They leave behind a trail of dancing shadows,
Dark butterflies, silent songbirds.

Oh! Tears leave me,
For I will not make the house of sorrow my abode.
I will not shed blood.
I will not weep pain.
Oh! Tears leave me!

What good are words unspoken?
What good is life frozen?
What good is love unloved?
What good is joy sorrowing?
Oh! Tears leave me!
