Of course you do. To dream is part of the human psyche. Our night dreams are many
faceted and far ranging in content, often reflecting distorted views of our everyday life.
We forget these almost immediately upon waking or swear we didn't dream at all. Some
dreams, like nightmares, seem deep rooted in our subconscious and stem from our worries,
frustrations, or negative experiences. We do our best to thrust them from our thoughts.
For the most part, once we awaken and get caught up with the reality of our everyday
experiences, the dreams fall back into the darkness from whence they came.
But that is by no means the end of the story. What about the daydream? Isn't this the
time when you do a bit of wishful thinking, you may ask. Yes and no, because you have the
ability to create your own daymares if you so desire. To do so is not wise, for a very
good reason.
Did you know that you create your own reality? Did you know that your thoughts go forth
and become reality? Negative thoughts attract negative situations, and no wise person
would wish this upon themselves.
However, you will have heard it said that every cloud has a silver lining and every
coin a reverse side, so let us dwell upon the positive side of the daydream world. All
that we said earlier is equally applicable here. Wish for that which you really desire and
wait for it to become reality.
I've done that and it doesn't work, you say. Fair enough, but did you go about it in
the right way? Let us see whether we can find out by taking the appropriate steps.
I wish... A million dollars would do it! Or would it? It would no doubt be a quick fix
if that is what you want. But even that daydream could have its drawbacks. It could not
cure a terminal illness, it will come with added responsibilities, it could lead to family
squabbles or loss of friends. These things do happen to the so-called "Lucky
ones". No, the quick fix is definitely out.
Sit down and think about all your wishes. List them. Study your list thoughtfully. At
this point, you will see that some of your wishes do not hold the same importance as
others. Delete them. Look at what you have left. Does one wish predominate, or are you
left with a choice? Now it is becoming harder to make the selection.
Whilst you are considering, include the following aspect. Is what you are wishing for
appropriate for you at this time? If you do not know the answer, think about this
seriously, and the answer will come to you in time. It could be that the granting of your
wish may not be to your ultimate advantage. The wish may therefore be delayed, or simply
not granted. To clarify, the wish is fine but the timing is off.
Bearing this in mind, return to the list. Here are some items used as an example: a
change of workplace, some re-training, a change of state, a new car, relocation, something
you have always wanted deep down but it appears to be an impossible dream. If you could
select from this list, and the impossible item were marked possible, the chances are that
you would choose it because deep down within you is a yearning to pursue that dream. Your
urgent desire has been blocked by your view of reality which has told you to say, "I
can't wish for that, it is not possible." Possibility is mentally movable if we are
prepared to allow it to be so, and give it our full mental assurance. Then possibility can
become reality, often through the strangest of circumstances.
To fulfil a wish requires from you some considerable thought and effort but the process
sure works. It works for thousands of people who have worked for it. Work at your dream
and watch it come true!
